Introduction of Haedong Kumdo in India
Haedong Kumdo-Hae mean Sea Dong means East Kum means Sword & Do means way thus the meaning of Haedong Kumdo is Translated as the Eastern Sword Martial Arts or Haedong Kumdo is Literally translated in to Original Korean Sword Techniques it is Traditional Kumdo Trained in to Prepare for the real battle & is Totally different from JUKDO (Bamboo Sword) Sports & GUHAPDO which were imported from Japan. The practitioners of Haedong Kumdo use real Sword which weigh approximately 1.2 KG The Sword techniques are not only the most important Skills for the Battle but also improve physical Strength endurance, posture & attitude while assisting one to Devolpe a noble state of Personality.
According to Korea History there were three Dynasties Relating to ancient Time Namely Kokure, Baekje & Silla & the most Powerful being the Kokure.The Origin of Haedong Kumdo is Form military System of Kokure, which dates back 1,500 years ago in Korea.
In the Modern time the UWHKF (United World Haedong Kumdo Federat! ion) under the Great Leadership of President Grandmaster Kim Joeng Seong which was established to Spread Haedong Kumdo universally, Started with approximately 1000 dojang of Haedong Kumdo in Korea (who then Jointly presented Haedong Kumdo at a Performance on the stage at Busan Cultural Centre on 24th June 2001) One of the goal of the Grandmaster Kim not only to promote Haedong Kumdo as a martial arts but also to spread it as a cultural Arts which could be Performed on the Stage to Promote Cultural heritage So the re-popularization of Haedong Kumdo due to the effort of Grand Master Kim., which include numerous performance & the Publishing of Haedong Kumdo Text Book as well as implementation of Haedong SSANG-Kumdo(Two Sword) & through internet too( www.haedong2001.com). Grandmaster Kim Performed Haedong Kumdo on stage in many Countries yet Through out World. More Over Grandmaster gets great Honor Award from President of USA.
At Present Grandmaster Kim Jeong Seong President & Founder of United World Haedong Kumdo Federation working hard to spread Korean Ancient Martial Arts through out the World. UWHKF (United World Haedong Kumdo Federation) representing in many Countries like America, Canada, England, South Africa, Holland, South Korea, China, India & Shortly in Thailand, Hong Kong, Nepal, Sri lanka, Pakistan & in Malaysia.
At Present Haedong Kumdo under the Leadership of Grandmaster K! im is Spreading through out rapidly it Contains of Sharp Real Sword, Wooden Sword & Bamboo Sword & Ssangsu Kumbup (Two-handed Sword techniques) Yedo Kumbup (Sharp & Short Sword) Bon Kuk Kumbup (Korean Native Sword technique) Jang Beak Kumbup Kyekkum (Free Style Fighting) Bamboo Cutting, Cutting Sheaves of Straw & grass mats Paper cutting (wooden & real Sword).
In India it introduce by Mr. Shammi International Taekwondo Player in month of July after getting training of Haedong Kumdo from Busan, South Korea (Head Quarter of UWHKF (United World Haedong Kumdo Federation) under Grandmaster Kim Jeong Seong with Rishi Arora Interna! tional Taekwondo Player, Ms Ruby International Taekwondo Player & Rash Pal Singh International Taekwondo Player & others. Indian Also Participate & Performed in the Haedong Kumdo in Haedong Kumdo Performance at Busan Culture Centre 2005 & on the visit of Indian team to South Korea for Haedong Kumdo training team gets many awards & honor from many Clubs, Association & other Sports Organization. India team also perform in India while come back in North India Jeet Kune Championship in Chandigarh, State Taekwondo Championship in Muktsar, Punjab & National Taekwondo event in Amritsar, Punjab yet. & Now Plain to Perform in many Places of India to Spread Haedong Kumdo in India.
