Some words from Sweden for 2009 World HK Champ스웨덴해동검도대회후기

United World Haedong Kumdo Federation의 유럽해동검도연합회 사무국장인 세마스찬 사범이 스웨덴을 대표하여 본 해동검도세계대회에 대한 느낌을 아래와 같이 이야기 한다.

 

 

 

 

Dear practitioners of haedong kumdo,

As Secretary General of the European Haedong Kumdo Union, and as information officer for Sweden, it is for me to write a few words about Sweden's participation in the first World Championship in haedong kumdo.

First of all, I would like to thank Grand Master for a fun and exciting World Championship. Practitioners from Sweden have come to know many new people from Korea, South Africa, Brazil, Sri Lanka and so on. Wherever we have been we have got nice response. I didn’t really expect this openness and generosity that we were met by, in full accordance with the old martial arts traditions.

Haedong kumdo is a relatively new martial art that has the potential to be really great, both in Sweden and abroad. But no martial art is more than its practitioners. If we do not get passionate and skilled practitioners, the art will slowly but surely die.

Therefore, I was very glad I got to see and had the opportunity to get to know people who have the passion for haedong kumdo during the World Championship. All of these practitioners also make every effort to develop themselves and to spread haedong kumdo throughout the world. That makes me happy.

For all practitioners in haedong kumdo are pioneers. We therefore have the possibility, under the direction of Grand Master Kim management, to spread and develop this wonderful art to what we want it to be in the future. The next World Championships, I am convinced that I will get to know even more people from many other countries that will enrich my life even more. See you all next time!
